Florida High Performance Green House
Florida High Performance Green House
2013
The Florida High Performance Green House is a unique learning opportunity for all involved. We are excited to share our project with the public so that other folks interested in greening their homes can evaluate what strategies might work for them.
We are focused on the Cost/Benefit of green building. The first costs and life cycle benefits of every major element of this home will be analyzed and that analysis will be featured on this website. Manufacturers and suppliers of products tied to life cycle savings will be featured in both the individual case study elements, but also a part of the overall green financial strategy of this project.
In addition all the life cycle costs/benefit analysis that will be done during design and construction phases of this project, the project team will track operating costs for period of 3 years.
Welcome
The goal of this project is to demystify the green decision making process involved with designing and building. We are using sustainability’s triple bottom line structure (environment, economic, social) to make decisions that are both good for the environment and the economics of the family. Our social goal is to share our experience with our community and to help them evaluate the best greenovation options for their families and homes.
